HalosĀ® X OddBalls Foundation
Established in 2015, the OddBalls Foundation is the UK’s leading charity raising awareness of Testicular Cancer (Charity No. 1164815). The OddBalls Foundation visits schools, colleges, universities, the workplace and other organisations educating people on the basics of Testicular Cancer and encouraging regular self checks to promote early diagnosis; ultimately, saving lives!
Testicular Cancer is the most common cancer affecting people with testicles aged 15-49, with a person being diagnosed every 4 hours in the UK. If detected early, however, it is over 90% curable.
In conjunction with The OddBalls Foundation, HalosĀ® has been created in the charity’s iconic Hippy Jungle pattern, a 70s torrent of peace and colour!
For every OddBalls Foundation Halos® sold, £20 is donated directly to The OddBalls Foundation to raise money to improve awareness of Testicular Cancer and save lives.

HalosĀ® X Eli Niko
Elijah Niko started his career in Rugby League, playing in both New Zealand and Australia before switching codes. With that switch to Union came the chance to move to France. He won the Pro D2 and promotion to the Top14 in 2015 with Section Paloise (Pau) before a move to BƩziers and then a brief stint in the UK Championship. Since returning to France, he is playing both Wing and Centre for Aurillac, and was called up in November 2021 to play for Samoa against the Barbarians.
Eli Niko puts his body on the line in every rugby match, which demands a winning mindset, the best possible kit and protecting performance. Eli created his own HalosĀ®, inspired by his Pacific Island culture and reflecting the traditional warrior tattoo designs from his Samoan heritage. Eliās design incorporates the Niho Mano/Sharks Tooth and the Spearhead in black and white colours, defining symbols that represent courage, ferocity, power, fighting spirit, and adaptability.
HalosĀ® is a thin, lightweight, soft and flexible sports headband that is proven to reduce the transmission of rotational forces from head impacts in sports (e.g. head-to-head, head-to-ball, head-to-ground, head-to-knee).
Deliberately designed:
In every concussion and sub-concussion (impacts of lower force which damage the brain, but do not cause signs and symptoms of concussion) there are rotational forces present; these cause the brain to rotate inside the skull. This is associated with tearing of tiny blood vessels and brain cells, resulting over time in the breakdown of the blood-brain barrier and the creation of damaging neuro-inflammation. Rotational forces bring about diffuse axonal injury (DAI) injury and increase your risk of long-term neurodegenerative diseases.
HalosĀ® lessens the risk of concussions and sub-concussions by reducing the transmission of rotational forces to the brain from impacts.
Advanced technology:
Patented RotectionĀ® technology inside HalosĀ® is made up of nine protective layers. When a head receives an impact, these layers move to reduce the transmission of rotational forces by up to 61%* and the transfer of energy to the brain following a head impact.
*Based on independent testing.
Rethought purpose:
A headguard (scrum cap) design increases the risk of rotational forces to the brain given the padding-shaped design. In fact, the gaps between the foam shapes create more “catch points” that increase rotational forces to the brain.
Understanding the mechanics of brain injury from rotational forces and the brainās physicality to sub-concussions means that Rezon would never permit RotectionĀ® technology to be used in a headguard (scrum cap) design.
Game comfort:
HalosĀ® conforms to fit every head shape and hairstyle, allowing for maximum comfort, eliminating pressure points, and reducing the need for constant adjustment, as well as alleviating forehead, temple and neck fatigue.
Key features include:
- Water-repellent, tear-resistant performance fabric in a signature black and silver hexagon pattern; and
- Anti-microbial and hypoallergenic lining with breathability and sweat-wicking properties.
A textured silicone grip on the inner lining to ensure that HalosĀ® remains securely in place (including when heading a football or in the scrum and ruck in rugby).
Ergonomic shaping:
HalosĀ® protects 80% of the head areas that have the highest probability of receiving an impact in sport and provides 53% coverage of the head.
This coverage percentage is based on the NOCSAE head and Hybrid III neck model, the most widely used crash dummy in the world.
The shape of the HalosĀ® is deliberately engineered to allow for zero distraction, no false confidence and no change to playing style (including in the power or direction of heading a football).
HalosĀ® should be a secure and tight fit on the head.

Medically reviewed:
Wearing HalosĀ® will reduce the risk of a one-off hit that could trigger a career-ending or life-changing concussion. Wearing HalosĀ® consistently in training and games may reduce your accumulated burden of sub-concussive brain injury. This could lessen the risk of reducing your cognitive reserve for one-off hits and your potential risk of triggering longer-term neurodegenerative consequences.
